The Melbourne Tigers juggernaut rolls on. The ladder leaders continued their undefeated run in style with a comprehensive 25-point home win over New Zealand Breakers. David Barlow was dominant, chalking up a phenomenal 37 points. The result keeps the Tigers flying high on top of the table, and setting a challenge for Brisbane and Sydney to catch the early front-runners. Brisbane stumbled in their chase of the leaders, with a shock 112-90 loss to Cairns Taipans, a result that propelled the Taipans into the top 4. No such concerns for Sydney; with the Kings dominating Adelaide on Wednesday night to cruise to an 18-point win, and backing up with a strong performance on the road against Singapore. South Dragons recorded their first win of the season when the second-season club took a 12-point win over the Breakers, Cortez Groves in good form with 27. It was a shocker of a weekend for the Razorbacks. First they went down to Townsville by 3 points, a result that lifts the Crocs back into contention. This was followed up on Sunday afternoon with an upset home defeat to Wollongong Hawks by 17 points. This result was part of a return to form by the Hawks, who also took out a 17-point victory over Perth Wildcats. Competition newcomers won on the road for the first time, getting up by 4 points over Adelaide on Saturday night.
