drawn against former champion Svetlana Kuznetsova, now seeded down to 26; the clock ticked back a couple of years, as Kuznetsova
turned up with a dominant performance to record a straight-sets win.
13th seed and crowd favourite Ana Ivanovic also had her tournament come to a premature end at the hands of Sara Errani.
