Semi final day saw Scottish fourth seed Andy Murray in action, drawn to play top seed Rafael Nadal. Murray was carrying the
hope of the home country, and both Centre Court and Henman Hill were jam packed with spectators to take in the action.
The first set saw plenty of break points for both players, but it took till the twelfth game that either was able to capitalise. And
it was Murray who sent the home crowd into raptures as he broke Nadal's serve to take the opening set.
But Murray's heroics could go that far but no further, as the reality of Nadal's dominance set in. Nadal broke Murray twice in
the second set, twice in the third and once in the fourth to complete a four-set win.
Nadal's opponent in the final will be Novak Djokovic. The second seed, defeated only once in all matches so far this year,
was tested early by French twelfth seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. The first seed went to a tie-breaker, but the second set was
more comfortable. But the third set again saw Djokovic unable to shake off the persistent Tsonga, and again the set went to
a tie-break. With Tsonga winning the tie-break, the match went to a fourth set. But Djokovic stepped up the pressure in the
fourth set, taking the set, the match and a place in the final.
