As the back courts were full of activity, catching up the various tournaments' matches after rain delays earlier in the week; on
Arthur Ashe court the remaining mens' quarter finals were held.
And the result of the quarter finals sees the four top seeds all make their way through to the semi finals.
Rafael Nadal was up against Andy Roddick, and in a one-sided demolition, the Spaniard had no trouble in breezing through
in straight sets, conceding just six games.
Andy Murray had a tougher fight against John Isner, and it took 12 games for the British fourth seed to break the serve of the
tall American and take the first set. The one set lead quickly became two, but Isner wasn't finished yet. Isner broke Murray
early in the third set and maintained the break for the remainder of the set to bring the match to four sets. Twelve games
went with serve, the set going to a tie-break. But Murray stood up when the pressure was on to take the tie-breaker and go
through to the semi finals.
